Decimal precision.
« on: August 21, 2012, 07:38:47 AM »
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can convert an existing GCode file which has 4 places of decimal precision to a similar file with just 3 places of precision please ??

It doesn't have to do anything fancy such as rounding, I would be happy to just loose the 4th decimal place.

Don't ask why  ;D ;D

May run into problems by dropping the 4 th place.
Don't ask why ;D  :)   ;D

Hey Tweakie,

Just drop the last decimal place to the right.

Hey Tweakie,

Is it possible to set the scale of an axis from the Gcode pattern?

Thanks for your suggestion Larry.

I did actually resolve the issue by an extremely convolute process of recreating the .dxf from the GCode then recreating the toolpath to 3 decimal places.

There must be software, similar to Graham's Metric to Inch to Metric converter, which could do this task in a fraction of the time but I was unable to find anything suitable. Still, problem resolved now thanks again.  ;)
