Ess and parallel port
« on: August 18, 2012, 04:14:23 PM »
Hi,

I use the ESS with mach3 and it works great. If you use the smoothstepper the parallelports are signed out. Is it possible to use the ess simultaneously with the parallel port. The reason i ask is that i would like to,use the 2nd parallel port on my computer for my pendant?

Tnx tantan

There was talk of allowing that at one time but it never happened, maybe there was a reason it didnt, you will have to email Greg or ask on the Warp9 forum.

You're using all three ports on three ESS?

hi, jeff.

no i am not using all three ports on the ess. but the ess is build in to the machines cabinet and my mpg is working on the second parallel port of my computer. it just would save me a lot of work if i could get the second parallel port working when i use the ESS

tnx.

Just use a LPH26 to DB25 cable and put a DB25 connector on your cabinet for your MPG.
