Sherline Mill & Mach3 ?
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:22:29 PM »
Hi New here, pretty much a novice to cnc.
I've got a Sherline mill running on the standard EMC2 system, obviously the PC uses the Linux OS.

Is there a Linux version of Mach3? Or will I need to partition the drive and install windows? I'm not interested in a WINE program.

The reason I want to use Mach3 is so I can use the digitizing wizard for a touch probe.
I also need to know what other components I will need to run the probe? I read here about connecting the probe via the printer port will I need a break out board as well?

Thanks, Ash.

Mach is a Windows based controlling program.

Dear Forum,

looking at getting a 6000 package from sherline, have my own computer (windows 7) looking at Mach 3.
Is there a default setup for Sherline lathe and mill (new to this) (config file???)

Also any point on Vectorworks to Gcode (DXF the best)
