Install of Mach3 Ver 2.033
« on: January 12, 2007, 08:24:21 AM »
I just purchased a new PC to use on the Plasma table we are building and ran into difficulties installing the Mach 3 program. When it gets to the point of installing the drivers for Mach3 the PC automatically reboots. I have the same file loaded on my notebook with no trouble. The PC we purchased is a Intel Celeron D2.66GHz. My notbook is older at 1.6GHz. Any ideas.

Look in the downloads section at the optimization file.

I gave that a try and still had the same trouble. Then I restarted in safe mode, and the driver installation process completed. But when I restart in normal (not safe mode) mode the computer stops during bootup with error messages on a blue screen. Appears there is a conflict on my machine with the drive addressing and something else.

Make sure you completly uninstall mach before you try to reinstall it. If you do the first install on the system and try to run Mach without restarting the PC you'll get the blue screen.

Also, I think it would be a good idea to turn off any virus scanning during the install. Good luck.

I even removed the virus scanning program for a try, deleted Mach3 folders, unistalled driver in Device manager.
Might have to end up swapping PCs with the kids as I tried their PC and everything installed fine even with 749 versions of GTA, Battlefied, MSN and who knows what else they have installed in the past year!

I stand to be corrected. The installation on the kids PC was not with the MACH3 Driver files. Once I tried to install the Driver files during installation we have the same error showing up, PC crashes and lists errors with the MACH3 driver files.

We tried on another PC in the office as well and same results, 3 PC with the same problems during installation.

Do you have a wireless network? If so, disable it a see if that helps.

I hate to say it but it sounds like you need to do a clean install of windows :(

And you NEED the reboot after install or you ARE going to blue screen  :'(

Fixing problems one post at a time ;)
