Tuning Motors

Hi Guys & Gals,

I've just set up a Gecko540 on a Dynamyte 2400 with a smoothstepper.  It jogs fine but while tuning I had to set the step pulses to 2,580,000 to get the axis to move the correct amount.  All axis move smoothly and in the correct direction while jogging.  I put a test program in and the z-axis is supposed to move up or negative .800 inches before any others move.  Here is where it all goes wrong, the z-axis moves up but it roughly moves an inch but only registers about 145 thousandths so I have to stop it before it hits the positive stop and crashes because it tries to go way to far.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

Bit confused at what you are meaning, you say " z-axis is supposed to move up or negative .800" Z up is positive if you are talking about the tool direction in relation to the work.

When you say "he z-axis moves up but it roughly moves an inch but only registers about 145 thousandths" are you  saying the code says to only move 0.145".
If you attach your xml and the code you are using maybe the issue can be found.
