I have the hobby cnc pro driver board and 200 oz 3A steppers when turning the bord on and telling the steppers to move with mach 3 the stepers bind for 1/2 a second and then I can turn the steppers with my hand but dont turn at all

I connected my foamcutter steppers (127 oz 1 A) to the same board and they work fine

Dave Rigotti (hobbycnc.com) thinks it might be some setting in mach 3 that I got wrong

Have you set the acceleration and velocity under motor tuning.

yes it is set to     
                        X axis                Y Axis                  Z axis
steps per mm -   2130                  2130                    2130
velocity          -   300                    300                     200
acceleration    -   100                    100                     100
step pulse      -    5                         5                        5
dir pulse         -    5                         5                        5

if not correct please tel me wat it should be

other settings:
Driver bord is set to 1/16 steps
and as I said the smaller 127 oz 1A steppers work great

Hi Johann,

every set up is different and you have to set each motor to its optimum by playing around with the setting until you get it running nice.

My settings are :-

                        X axis                Y Axis                   Z axis
steps per mm -     800                     800                     880
velocity          -   1750                   1750                    2250
acceleration    -      55                       65                       50
step pulse      -        1                         1                        1
dir pulse         -        1                         1                        1

Try them but there is no guarantee they will work for your set up.
