well the latest. checking my system the way Microsoft says to in order to determine 32 or 64 bit. i have a 32 bit system. now i need to find out how to check to make sure i don't have any internal problems with the parallel port.

If you have XP it will be unlikely that it is 64 bit also if the driver test is working then it is definitely not 64bit or it wouldnt have run.
The file you attached is the Mach exe I think rather than a xml.

Good morning it 7:15 am here and i will be out to my machine soon. Hood I will try to find you the right file. I did some reading last night about ECP and EPP settings in the bios connected to the parallel port. in my device manager my port shows up as ECP/EPP port and there are two address one being 0378 and i forget the other. so i am going to look in my bios this morning to see what it is set at.m i will post those results later this morning. if nothing else this will give me more insight as to what makes a computer tick. stay tuned

ok here is my xml file. In my device manager the setting say ECP Printer Port LPT1, in the resourse tab first is  I/O 0378-037F,  second is I/O 0778-077B, DMA 03.     i went into my bios and this is what was there. Onboard parallel port 378/IRQ7.    Parallel Port Mode ECP + EPP1. i changed Parallel Port Mode to EPP1.7 from the choices available. no change to the no move ment problem. so i changed it back to original settings.

OK update I got it fixed. stupid problem on my part. under ports and pins motor outputs i had a 0 in the Step Port or Dir Port. when i put a 1 in both ports for all 3 axis, they all moved as the were supposed to. hey thanks for listening to my tale of woe.

Ha ha its a common error and its one of the reasons I ask to see the xml as it can be picked up easily :)

Hello, I try to set up a system with 2 parallel ports, is it possible to configure the system to use the standard 0x378 as port#2 and a PCI card port as port#1 at his specific port address?
It seems that i can't get the 0x378 port working as port#2 with all lines configured as input.

Standard parallel port can not have all pins as input.
