Mach4 pre alpha testing
« on: March 05, 2012, 06:56:18 AM »
I am looking to make a mailing list of people that would like to be part of the pre alpha testing. It is not much to test but it will allow you to see the new toolpath code and play with the new Gcode interpreter. This first test is only a test to see how the new toolpath code works on all the video cards. OpenGL is a bit of a pain because it will not work on some machines if you get to far into the special commands. If you would like to do this please e-mail me at brianb@machsupport.com and I will add you to the list. Mach4 can load a 34 MB Gcode file in 50Sec ! We are very pleased with the speed now we need to see if it works for all of you as it works here  LOL... (posted this on the yahoo forum as well but know some of you don't use that)

Fixing problems one post at a time ;)

Brian perhaps it may be best to start a new forum category for the MACH4 stuff. Things tend to get LOST in the General Category heading. Makes it HARD to follow some times.

Just  a thought, (;-) TP

Brian, I have run some code of mine that is around a 27 meg vcarve file from Aspire. It loaded and ran fine, the program would not exit after loading my file, the only way to get it to stop was thru the task manager.  I am not sure if this is the type of feedback you want or not.  Everything else worked fine.

P4 1.6GHz 512 ram xp sp3

nvidia geforce4 ti 4200

mach4 idle after start: cpu 75% mem 10,000K then settled to mem 6500K

Running outhouse: cpu 95% mem 16,000K

Mach3 idle after start: cpu 0% mem 44,000K

Mach3 running outhouse cpu 0% mem 57,000K

I too had to exit with TM.

I could view the code and rotate it OK with no lockups

Hope this helps.
