Another DIY CNC Question design & kit related..
« on: January 01, 2007, 03:58:23 PM »
First of all Happy New Years!

I have been gathering some building supplies for almost a year now and I am getting ready to do some actual building soon. I am planning on a small moving gantry type design approx 40"x40" some designers use one motor to move this gantry with a chain and sprockets and others put two motors coupled right on the drive screw. My question is what are the pros and cons to them and if I go with the extra motor do I need the 4 axis kit seen here:
http://www.xylotex.com/Econo4AxSpecial.htm

Now will Mach3 work well with the above kit? and will the above kit be able to handle all the features of the Mach3 software??

Thanks!!

Hi, RMS

Should work, so many to chose from, there are so many ways to set it up the steppers.

You just need to read the Manual and look at allot of posts to compare your machine with others out there.

No one Machine can use All............ of Mach's Features.

Hope this is a Starting Point, Chip
