Losing Constant Velocity setting
« on: January 11, 2012, 04:30:44 PM »
Hi all

I have been experimenting with a touch probe and wanted to flip the active state for the Digitiser input. No problem: go into Ports&Pins and change it over.
Well, that worked, but every time I did that the system flipped from Constant Velocity to Exact Stop. No, I had not changed that myself (and that's a different screen anyhow).
Has anyone else noticed this?

Cheers

Hi Hood

No, I always have it set to CV in the XML. ES would be horrible for some of the stuff I do!

But after I flip the polarity of the Digitise input pin, it is in ES mode. I set it back and save config.

Cheers

Almost sounds as if you have a plugin or a brain or a macro doing that. Tried here on a few different xmls and doesnt change for me.

No Brains or Macros, but I am using the ESS plug-in. Yes, that could be doing something. I will pursue with greg.

Ok just tried and nothing changes. Just to make sure I am understanding, this is the probe input in Ports and Pins? The CV changes when you change the active state?
If thats what you are saying then its not happening for me on the machine with ESS.
If you want to attach your xml I can try with it.

Hi Hood

I tried it again yesterday afternoon, and while I am having problems with the sensing of the probe signal, the CV state did not change every time. I think there may be a problem with the ESS driver (and possibly the g31 command), and I am working with Greg on that.

Have you used a touch probe with the ESS yet? I would be very interested to hear.

Cheers
