« on: December 16, 2011, 09:31:28 PM »
Hello new here. Trying to use the CAD drawing below and get it into mach 3. Its a boring operation and mach and lazy cam do not read them properly and i am having trouble generating G-code that ends up looking like this when it finally gets to mach 3. The red are my roughing cuts to remove materiel the yellow is my roughing of my profile and the green is my final pass. All help is much appreciated.

When you say a boring operation are you meaning using the LC's lathe module?
or
Do you really mean it's a milling operation?

I haven't fooled with Lazycam's lathe module in a long time and frankly it can be a challenge since the tool definitions were never completed.
First thing to do is have a read of the manual for Lazycam which can be found in Members Doc's.  See Tutorial #5 for lathe specifics and redraw your drawing per the tutorial. Make darn sure you simulate the code in Mach Turn and pay attention to possible bad XZ moves in the posted code.
Wish ya luck,
RICH
