Doing some research on Allen Bradley AC servo drives. It appears to me that the -SE versions do not have step and dir inputs like the other models. Can anyone confirm this?

The Sercos can be disabled on the DSD drives in Software or if its the DDM drives then you can remove the Sercos board. Doing that (at least in the DSD, not sure about DDM) will then turn the drive into a full indexing drive which gives you the advantage that you can use them to do the homing and thus get very accurate homing for your machine.

Thanks for the information. The drive I was looking at is the DSD drive. I don't see the STEP and DIR for SE model listed in the manual. So are you saying that if I disable the SERCOS option then the pin out changes to the non-SE version and STEP and DIR will be available?

Yes, I use quite a few of the Sercos drives and have the sercos disabled. If I recall when you look at the drive in Ultraware and right click on the first part of the tree you should see an option to disable Sercos.
