Not anymore. I boched the crankshaft. Will start over soon.

Man, how in the world do you turn a crank on a Lathe (just small time lathe hobby guy here).

Drill all 5 centers in both ends. Then I rough out the ends and centers. Mill down the crank arms and then finish them. Then the last thing I do is finish all the mains last in the same setup.




The rest was done in the mill.

Beautiful work Steve.

I had been puzzling about the setup for machining the offset cranks but now you mention the 5 centres it all seems so obvious.  ;)
