Mach 2 Question
« on: September 02, 2011, 06:27:22 PM »
First I am a real novice at anything related to CNC. But at 76 I have decided to learn it. :) I hope.
And from what I have heard and seen on the net the Mach system should work for me. But it seems as all the information is on Mach 3. And not much on 2. I only need the 2 Axis system to run a MILL. So my questions is Is the 2 the same as 3 except only for 2 axis or.?? And do all the wizars etc work on both or.?Any help or advice is deeply appericated. As it seems finding any information on the Mach 2 is not to easy. smile   Whitey

The number following "Mach" does not indicate the number of axes.  It is the major version number.  Mach3 is the latest.  Mach4 is coming.  They are all capable of controlling 6 axes.

Not at all.  You can use as many axes as you need...up to 6.

I would suggest you use Mach3 rather than Mach2 as you will get more support if you have questions as most here will be using Mach3.
