Auxiliary bus and LCD issue
« on: July 17, 2011, 09:22:06 AM »
Hi,

after getting a Pokeys55 and thoroughly testing and experimenting with it, I noticed (seemingly) random activity on PoExtBus devices.

These are continuously switching on/off with no noticeable pattern, about twice a second.

I checked cabling, insulation and grounding, tried every setting I could think of, made sure that neither macropump nor brains were accessing the device.

Now I found out that this happens as soon as I activate the LCD, (which is working fine, btw.)
If I turn it off within the mach3 plugin config screen, the ExtBus works as expected.

Did I miss anything or ist there any other trick to get LCD and auxiliary bus working together?

S/W version: 3.07
pokeys55 Serial: 12096 /FW: 2.1.19
plugin version 10.6.4
mach3 Version: 3.042.020

I'd be most grateful for any hint. Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hey Mike,  send an email to Boris@poscope.com and define this issue. There may be a bug in the firmware.
The plug-in just sends and receives the data via a command structure.
Currently, the plugin only sends the 8x10 led out on the ADB, and the LCD is sent out via commands, so they are on two different
"circuits" if you will.

Hi Scott,

thanks a lot. I mailed to Boris and he promised to look into that.

Now I'm eager to know what leads to this strange behavior, I'm really at my wits' end here. :)

Regards,
Mike
