DMC-41x3 supported?
« on: July 11, 2011, 03:23:27 PM »
Hi there

Our retrofit is going forward, we can control our axis from GalilTools, but when im trying to register the device, a 4133, in DMC Smart Terminal, it not on list. Should we load it with DMC-21x2 firmware or are there any other way to registre it?

Just register it as a 21x3 in the Smart Term.  It's an Ethernet controller and it will work.  Don't attempt to load 21x3 firmware on your controller.  You may have to manually assign an IP address to your controller.

Hi Guldberg.dk,

I too am busy with a retrofit using a Galil DMC-4153 ethernet controller.

Did you manage to get yours to work with Mach3 using Steve's advice?
If so, could you let me know what the procedure to follow is?

Thanks,
Greg

The DMC41x3 controllers don't support a lot of the commands that the Optimas did.  They support the commands, but only in a program.  So you get a lot of errors in the GalilDebug.txt file.  I'm working on a plugin that fully supports the 41x3 controllers.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply.
How long do you think it will be before you are able to finish the plugin for the DMC 14x3 card.

I am using Camsoft Pro but am wanting to see if Mach3 will perform better.

Try this one out.  Your mileage may vary at this point.  :)
