Step motors make growling noise but not all the time
« on: May 14, 2011, 03:34:38 PM »
Hi to All,

This is probably another common problem for cnc but I tried to figure this out for the last few days without any positive results. I have NEMA23 on Y and Z axis and NEMA34 for X axis and the problem is that the step motors are making growling noise when the router is moving around the curve but not always. This may be motor tuning problem but I could not get this fixed by changing parameters for my step motors in motor tuning. I have calculated steps per which are 160 for X and Y axis and 320 for Z axis. The router move smooth when I jog but when is doing the pocket is very noisy. I made short video to show exactly what the problem is. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56dP7kqcfRg.

Thank you very much for any help.
