Importing Tool Offsets Directly - is it possible
«

I'm in development of a tool Presetting unit so I can set milling tools, drills etc. Offline from the machine. It would be good to be able to import directly into the database maybe via XML? Anyone any ideas if it's possible.

With a bit of hunting around I've found the file tool3.dat which seems to hold the data for the tools. Now the problem opening the data in something that is readable. Anyone any idea how to open the file in a readable format?

Did you ever figure this out? I would like to maintain my tool database in a CAD/CAM package like CamBam. Then use a VB script to read the XML file and update the Mach3 tool database to reflect. Wondering where you are on your project. Thanks
