LazyCam double tracing?
« on: March 07, 2011, 03:22:01 AM »
Hi, I have found that with a few dxf's I make in Sketchup, LazyCam seems to generate gcode that retraces the same part twice, but at a very slight offset. It only does it for some parts, however i'm not quite sure what could be causing it.

Cheers,
Dan

Dan,
Post the dxf and will I take a look at it. I don't kow what Sketchup provides in a dxf and sounds like there are more than one lines. If the additional line was exactly like the other one checking the box to remove redundant lines  would remove it on import. After importing the dxf you may want to zoom way in and delete the offset line.
Is there a line width setting in Sketch up ? There are other free Cad programs out there and you may want to consider  one of them instead of SketchUp.

Here is the dxf: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/203420/Lightning.dxf

It seems that pretty much everything but the main outer rectangle is traced twice?

The main outer rectangle is also traced twice. In LazyCam
SETUP>LOADING OPTIONS> "check the box" REMOVE DUPLICATED LINES
That will remove them.

Interesting, not sure how they get duplicated in the first place, but thanks for the help!
