HI hood. I m using the program in Mach3 instructions where each axes is run 50 times
but when I get to z axis I need to enter fractions of a n inch to run within the throw of the
z on the hcnc machine.

Ok so its a mill or router? I am thinking you are maybe meaning that when you command a move of 1 inch its moving much more?
If thats the case then your steps per unit are wrong, quick and dirty way to set it up is use the Set Steps Per button on the settings page and run through the procedure. That will however only be as accurate as your measuring. Proper way is to calculate, for example if you know if the stepper is 1.8 or 0.9 degrees, what microstepping your drive is, what gearing is between scre and motor and lastly pitch of screw, then you canwork it out.

its a router and the z movement is small. 1 inch is a full move so to move z ha;f way I need to enter z-.5. Is this the way its done?
Thanks

If you are saying the full travel is 1 inch and when you ask it to move 1 inch it does, then that is correct, you will need to always have decimals as moves.
