Breakout Board Recommendations
« on: January 23, 2011, 04:23:15 PM »
I am setting up the CNC kit for an Industrial Hobbies Mill for the local (Herndon, VA) high school robotics club. The mill and kit arrived in 2007, the kit was partially installed then, and the project hasn't been touched for several years.

My immediate need is recommendations for a breakout board for this system. The CNC kit uses servo, not stepper, motors and Gecko 320 controllers. I would prefer a robust, well tested breakout board to one with all of the latest bells and whistles.

I searched this forum but have neither the time to sort through the thousands of hits I got or enough familiarity with the subject to devise a more refined search. Sorry if we are plowing old ground.

Please contact me if you need more information.

If this is not the correct forum for this query, I apologize. Please direct me to the correct site.

Thank You,

Coleman Blake

I have a preference for the PMDX 122, but they also have some nice looking newer models out depending on your needs.
I have never heard of anyone with a faulty PMDX and for me the quality is first class. I have 4 different machines all with the 122 and one has been running daily for over 6 years without a problem, the newest one I have maybe 2 years.
