Neat 103M drive with Mach3 - Newbie needs help
« on: January 19, 2011, 07:24:34 PM »
Hi,

I've been trying to use a Neat 103M drive and I can't get it to work.    The drive has a "remote connector" 25 pins input with "Z-Step command input", Z-Direction" and "Signal ground" among all.  I connected as follow

Drive                                   Mach 3
Z-Step command input  -->    Z-Axis signal pin
Z-Direction                   -->    Z Direction Pin
Signal Ground               -->    Pin 25 (ground)

Everything works fine with Mach 3, I can generate a signal, it looks nice on an oscilloscope.   I interconnected the limit switch of my slides and everything is working fine.  All my wiring is ok.  All fuses of the drive are ok.   I just can't get the stepper motors to move at all.   If I disconnect my stepper motor and check the voltage across phase 1-3 output of the drive nothing happens even if the signal from the computer looks beautiful.  I tried with different axis and it does the same thing.

Anyone has an idea of what might be my problem, why the drive is not picking up on signal from Mach3?

Thanks

Maybe your drives need an enable signal?
