Modbus Presentation
« on: October 28, 2010, 11:34:50 PM »
Hi All,

A week or two ago I did a talk on Modbus and MAch3 at the Adelaide CNC BBQ.

Attached are my presentation slides that some may find useful.

If the administrators feel that it has enough merit, they could put it in the members doc area.

enjoy.

Peter.

Hey Pete,

Just some small clairfications of your modbus doc.

  On Page 9:
You can access Legacy style modbus via brains the same as you can Plugin Serial or TCP IP modbus, Also, you can access Legacy serial modbus via Brains as well as VB.

 On page 10:
if you only enable the serial modbus, that takes you to the legacy modbus config, if you enable both serial modbus and plugin supported then that takes you to the plugin serial modbus. (some times those two serial checks can confuse some folks).

On page 14, on your CFGs #1, and #3 your words on the left list them as READS, but on your output direction you have them as OUTPUT HOLDING..

I like the fact that you can do 485 with your serial mio.
