Can Mach3 work on stepper driver with RS232 interface
« on: September 13, 2010, 01:58:12 AM »
Someone told me that Mach3 just can work with parallel port stepper driver, is it right?
If I have a stepper controller with RS232 interface or CANBus, how could use Mach3 software? Thanks

Thanks! But how could Mach3 work with XYZ or more than three-axis serveral parallel port drives?

Only two parallel port pins are needed for each motor driver. A "standard" parallel port has 5 inputs and 13 outputs. More than enough to run 3 motors, spindle on/off, dust exctractor, limit switches, home switches etc.
