Mach3Mill.xml still being over written with updates
« on: October 13, 2006, 01:17:15 PM »
Mach3Mill.xml is still being over written when I install the latest updates to Mach 3. this did not happen before versions "RC"
does this need to happen? sounds petty but curious what changed.

also is it necessary to reboot when doing upgrade or just on new install?

My xml doesnt get overwritten so cant help you there I am afraid.
I think it is just the initial install of Mach on your system that requires a reboot any upgrades after that are ok.

Brian or Art,
this is the pop-up I get when updating.
then my original Mach3mill.xml is over written with the default one. :'(

Is your profile called Mach3Mill ? just thought maybe you had made up a custom profile and its still there but Mach is defaulting to the standard xml.

yep, its named mach3mill.
this just started happening with the "rc" versions .
I have been updating since ver 1.83.011 and did not happen before.
I know Brian has been really busy with real problems. I am just one of those pains that needs to know why. like a 3year old LOL

Maybe worth a try deleting the Mach folder (keeping a copy of your xml of course) and  removing the driver and then starting afresh with Mach.
