Problem with creeping motor sitting still
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:44:24 PM »
I have a 3 axis machine. On just the y axis if the machine is sitting still with the control box and computer running I get a little bump every few minutes in the y axis motor. It acccumulates to 1/4" of movement in about 45 min all by itself. Mach3 thinks it is still at home. This occurs even when mach is not running but will stop when I unplug the serial cable to the control box. Any Ideas?

What do you have running which would access / check the PP every so often and send a signal out to the port?  ???

I've had this with a Rainbow Tech Sentinel security dongle on a CAD package so I'm with RICH - either that or plain old noise.
