« on: April 06, 2010, 12:53:25 PM »
Hi
Problems with spindle control
Set at 500 rpm but when running it shows a true speed of -80 (minus) It is running at 500 on Tacho
Set at 1000 "    "    "   "   "    "    "     "     "     "      "  -97   "    "  It is running at 733 on Tacho
The only speed which is stable is 500
Anyone know what I am doing wrong

Some people have been reporting negative values for spindle speed if they have a fast computer and an older version of Mach. So if you have the latest then thats not your problem :(
What kind of setup do you have for the spindle, is it a VFD? Afraid I have never set up with a VFD but if you post details of what you have hopefully someone can help you out.

Variable Frequency Drive, they are used to control 3 Phase AC Induction motors. I notice your title says D6000E so maybe that is some other kind of controller?

Motor is a 2kW varicon
Manual control by potentiometer, cnc control by Mach3
Been fiddling with the steps but dont quite understand what they do
When I started to set the spindle speed the step was at 20 giving the results in my first post
Changed step to 10000 outcome at1000 rpm on control 1414 rpm on tacho at 2000rpm   2400 rpm on tacho
Changed to 8000 outcome at 1000 rpm  1080 rpm  at 2000 rpm  1850 rpm
Dont now exactly what I am doing obviously

Do you have any links to documentation for it?
