machine keeps stopping
« on: March 24, 2010, 09:25:13 PM »
hello all,   I am new to cnc ,  I have a 20"x20" router and everything works great except the machine keeps stopping for no apparent reason,  I am using a rotozip for a router and it stops too.  everything restarts when i reset the estop on screen (no actual button) , restart the router , and hit "run" and she continues right on from where she stopped,  this is terribly inconvenient,  don't know what to do or where to start , and one more thing ,  in the diagnostic screen the m1++ is yellow but goes out when i manually engage the switch

HELP ME MISTER WIZZARD ! ???

Can you attach your xml please. Also how are your limit switches wired, ie normally closed and in series or?

Can you maybe take a couple of pictures of the limit switches and where they connect to the breakout board, maybe that will let us see how they are wired. From your xml it looks like you only have home switches set up so I am a bit confused but pics should hep :)

i will see if i can find my camera,  there are 5 switches total   one on each end of the x and y screws and one one the top of the z, don't know if they are limit or home , maybe 1 home for x and one home for y  and the other 3 are limit,  but i really don't know for sure. and i am assuming that the breakout board is in the control box? is that right?

Yes thats correct regards the breakout board.
In the xml however you only have X- limit enabled and X Home and Y Home.
