« on: March 17, 2010, 11:20:58 AM »
Okay Mach3 and my motors are not understand each other.
Mach3 shows that machine moved on 1.5 inch, but when i measure it on machine table it moved way far that Mach3 shows.
I also think Mach3 doesn't recognize my motors.

Can anybody help me with that???
I'm newbee with Mach3

Thanks in advance.

Mach doesnt care about your motors as long as your drives take step and direction.
What kind of motors? If servos whats the encoder count, if steppers what microstepping do your drives have?
What is the pitch of your leadscrew?
Do you have any gearing between motor and screw?

2 A/phase  -  Rated current
2 /phase  -  Resistance
9.1 mH/phase  -  Inductance
0.36(1.97) x10-4kg•m2(oz•in2)  -  Rotor inertia

Ok your motor is a stepper and its the normal 1.8 degree type so 200 steps per revolution. I still need to know the pitch of your ballscrews and the type of drives you have so that I know the microstepping value and lastly whether you have any gearing between the motor and the ballscrew.

No problem, your English is pretty good :)
Ok so stepper is 200 steps per rev and microstepping is 10 so thats 2000 steps per rev of the motor.
I am not great with rack and pinion but I think 20 DP means it has 20 teeth in 3.1416inches so one tooth would be 3.1416/20 = 0.15708 inches. Your motor gear has 12 teeth so that would be 12 x 0.15708 =  1.88496 inches per rev
1/1.88496 = 0.53052 revs per inch
so finally 2000 x 0.53052 = 1061.0305 steps per unit.

I think ;D
