gaining and loosing steps

just finished a long time project hurco mill with rutex drives. took quite awhile to work out the bugs but the mill finally tested o.k. first project was to drill holes to mount fixture on subplate. none of the holes are in the exact location from the program. x and y locations are off both plus or minus at each hole from .001 to .025. during setup of the mill it repeated perfectly every time, now it looses or gains steps on every move. any thoughts on this?

During your testing was the spindle or coolant on? Can you still repeat like you did previously when testing or is it even losing with the same kind of testing?

I have a customer reporting this problem as well.  Out of 20 or so parts he cuts on a waterjet machine, two parts would be almost 1/8" out of spec.  He has seen this several times.

Another aspect of this was rapid moves being way off the spec.  The computer screen shows no issues but the cutting head is noticeably not where it's supposed to be.  While on a visit there, I also saw this problem   The X axis on the machine moved over two inches further than the program called for on a rapid move.  This particular move was toward the machine zero.  This was about 10 minutes into a 12 minute job.

Any ideas?
