How do I determine which Limit Switch is Triggered?
« on: September 05, 2006, 08:16:21 PM »
Hey guys, I am getting an intermittant Limit Switch Triggered somewhere in my system, Seems to show up randomly when I am cutting. Is there anyway to determine which switch is causing the problem so I can replace it?
The signal is transient so it does not appear on screen long enough for me to tell which it is.

Cheers
Mike

Hello Mike,
Did you try setting a debounce for the inputs? try putting in about 1000 - 2000 that should do it..

I Will try that...
Can You Explain the Debounce Interval and Debounce Index...  Is the Index the Number of Times and the interval the duration between the times it checks? What is a good interval setting?

Index is for the index pulse in Mach3 and the rest of the inputs are done with the Debounce Interval

Ok That Meant.... not sure... WHat should the Debounce interval be set to? (2000?) and what should the Index Debounce be set to?

Brian, I Have my Settings at debounce interval 2500 and index dbounce of 1....and I still get the limit error.... I think It may be a bad switch....is there anyway of having the limit switch triggered show up in the History log?

Any other suggestions?

You could take one out of the loop at the time and just keep testing...

Hate to dig up an old thread but this may help other noob's having the same issue.

I too had the intermittent switch thing.
I found out it was the X home switch by starting the job and switching to the diag screen
and just stare at the switch led's.

my X switch blinked for a microsecond but thats all it takes.
I bumped the debounce up to 2500 and all is well.
I have some better quality switches now and will be installing them soon.
