need help on mach seeing spindle direction
« on: October 10, 2009, 06:42:25 PM »
I have totally redone my BP series 1 cnc mill. I have all going but havent tied the ac drive to mach control yet. Is there a way to set it up so Mach can see when the mill is in open range or backgear? If you shift the head then run  the spindle, it changes direction as all backgeared mills do. I can put a micro switch on the shifter lever but then what?? Thanks   Jim

What do you want to happen when Mach sees its in one or the other range? If it is just do an M4 for backgear or M3 for normal then that is easy enough to do in your M3 and M4 macros. All you would do in the M3 macro is tell it to look for the switch and if it sees it do a CW rotation or if it doesnt then do CCW and for the M4 you would just do the opposite.
