Sample Sign
« on: September 13, 2009, 12:37:36 PM »
I made this sample sign in Acad which looks good in Acad.

Then I export it to a dxf file and then import it to LC and I see this large black rectangle and in the lower left corner I have my sign which I can hardly see it.

Where the large rectangle comes from? (pls see attached files)

The sign was made at 0,0 in Acad and then I moved it around but the results are the same

Hi, Nicolas

You have a line in your drawing and you need to Explode the Text in your Cad program.

Hears a dxf to look at.

Hi, Nicolas

It's a feature in most Cad programs, What Cad are you using ?

You select the Text and it turns it into lines and arc's.

I use Version14 but thanks I got it but I have a different problem now.

Look in the attached LC file, the text is not lined up at all on the sign plus the letters have no consistent spacing

Any ideas what is causing that?

You can't explode the text in AutoCAD 14, unless you have a copy of the Express tools, which was an extra cost add-on back when V14 was out.

The EXPLODE command won't do anything with text.

You might want to try doing your text in a program like this, then bring the .dxf into AutoCAD.

You are right Gerry, I do have the Explode Command in my Modify Menu but it does nothing, when I select the text it says is not the right type.

I will give a try to the program you mentioned
