MACH3 is reassigning motor pins by himself
« on: September 06, 2009, 03:11:35 PM »
I have a problem with MACH3:
After a number of lines of code the movement on x axis stops, after a while another axis stops..
When I check it in the Ports&Pins / Motor Outputs, the assignments of the step/direction
pins are changed to 0, or between them.
Please help.

after you set your pins, save and exit mach3, then restart mach, that should lock the settings. if it does not uninstal mach and do a fresh instal.

Thank you for answering.

I tryed several times this routine, with saving, exiting, reinstalling,
I even tryed to install older versions of MACH3, it has no effect.
After around 8000 lines it looses the pin assignment.
I thought that others may have encountered the same problem and solved it.

Is the XML actually changing, or just the setting within Mach?  Try setting the pins correctly, saving the XML, then make the XML read-only, so it CAN'T change.  This could indicate a memory problem with your PC.  Are you running any plug-ins or macros that might be corrupting memory?  What version of Mach are you running?  ON what kind of PC?

Thank you HimyKabibble for the answer.

The PC is a Pentium 4 / 3GHz, 1 G RAM, I don't think this is the problem.
I run on it without any problem MACH2.
I tryed Making the .XML read-only, it didn't solved the problem. Now it happened at 5000 lines.
Probably the program loads it at the start, and after that it can change it.

It is not "a crack version" Manmardam.
I just downloaded it from artofcnc.ca version 3.042.029, with the old licence that I used with MACH2

Is it possible that my licence - being very old - could not work for MACH3 ?
