Tooltable unkown values
« on: August 04, 2009, 06:57:22 AM »
Hi,

my CNC for my mill still isn't finished yet, in the meantime I'm playing with Mach3. When I open the tooltable I get funny numbers in the 2.line of the list ( see attachmet)on 2 of my computers. I tried different versions of Mach, no change. In a German forum a read, that some users have also odd numbers, others don't. This is not a really problem for me, but since some people don't have those numbers, perhaps I did something wrong.

regards
Klaus

Hi, Klaus

In Mach3\macros\"the porfile your using"\Tool3.dat, Delete it or re-name it and restart Mach3 then recheck it, Apply OK, Check in again after another restart of Mach3.

Hi Chip,

is still the same. The tools3.dat contains
255 entries with [length of string] folowed by "Empty" and 63 times NIL
followed by 255 times 01

I don't think those odd numbers come from the tools3.dat. Some other user have different numbers. For me it looks more like an uninitialized variable / pointer.

Hi Chip,

I tried version 2.61 and 3.043 and always used the Mach3Mill.xml profil. Before installation I deleted the complete Mach3 directory. I'm supprised no one else in this forum has the same phenomenon.

Is it perhaps due to being in demo mode? Mine looks like Klaus's, but with different numbers. I don't have a license, could that be why? (I don't have a machine, either - at least not quite yet. :) )

Hi Gerry,

I don't think so, it looks the same with or without the license file copied to the Mach3 dir.

Klaus,
You are not alone as I am having the same kind of problem with other set of figures.

I am also thinking in these terms but my NFS wizards are working OK so my license appears to be OK
If it is a licensing issue then I am not happy as I have several days of crashed material with funny tool movements
Cheers
