Step and Direction Puse Width Needd for SS?

When using a SmoothStepper, is the Step and Direction pulse width specified in Motor Tuning used by the SS? If not, what parameter does the SS use to determine the pulse widths that are acceptable for the stepper motor?

No they are not used, the SmoothStepper has a fixed pulse width if I remember correctly.

Below are the pulse pictures that I captured long ago and they might answer you.

This from parallel port with 3 us pulse width.
    

here from SS port.
    

and the last picture is 1 second capturing time to see the acceleration of SS.

Thanks for the info. SS definitely looks like it lives up to its name compared to the PP.
