Hello,
I'm very new to cnc in general, but seem to be catching on quickly.
So I've been importing DXF files into D2NC then generating g-code for the shapes and opening them in Mach3.  Everything seemed fine, cut a few pieces then noticed 2 problems:
1. pieces were smaller than the original file
2. started to see circling arcs in imported file along the contour

Do I need to set a tool offset in Mach3 even after setting the tool offset in D2NC?
What in the world could be turning a portion of an outside contour line into small arcs?
Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Alex

Try changing the IJ mode, its on General config page.
If that doesnt help then attach your code and a screenshot of the problem.

Thanks Hood, I just tried that but no luck.  I'll post the screen shot as soon as possible.
Thanks again,
Alex

Alex,
Please post the gcode from D2NC.
I don't know anything about D2NC. D2NC should have a Post processor specificaly for Mach 3. Do you have one?
If not, ask the manufacturer to provide one.
A post processor adjust's the generated gcode from the CAM program such that the code is appropriate for the recieving controller configuration, namely Mach.
You may also want to take a look at how arcs are treated / done in D2NC. Then you can set Mach's configuration
to suite.

Here's the screenshot and gcode from D2NC.
Is it possible that I hit a key and changed some setting on accident?  I remember wiping off the keyboard when some oil spilled on it during machining, and the arcs were not there for the first few test runs of that part.

Thanks again for your help.

It has to do with the Tool Comp, the next version of Mach should work fine with it and Ver 043 that you can download now should also work but that version was just a test version for the comp update so may have other issues, probably best to wait if possible.
