Thread wizards / metric threads
« on: August 17, 2006, 09:22:50 AM »
I need to machine metric threads and it looks like the thread wizard only creates english threads.  Can someone confirm this.  I can make the conversions but I would like to know if I'm doing something wronge and it does have the ability to accept metric values.

Also, when looking at the G-code I noticed it creates G76 canned cycles but I cannot figure out some of it because it's not common code for G76 as written in my reference books and or what I'm used to.  Can someone interpret each item in the block so I can later hand write my own?

Thanks,

Mark S.

I have never used it but mine says to input the "pitch for mm or TPI" for imperial and also has a button to change from  from inch or mm, this is in Mach 3.

Thanks, I see that now.  I was using the Simple threading wizard and those options don't seem to be available.

Thanks again.
