g95 lathe feed per rev mode?
« on: June 03, 2009, 10:39:04 PM »
could someone give me an example with quick explanation of using g95 feed per rev mode in mach turn?

Also curios if canned cycle g71 might be usable in the future

Not really sure what you are needing for the G95 example but here is what you do, G95 mode in your preamble then any G1,G2,G3 moves after that will be feed per rev, so G1X10Z-20F0.3 would be a move to X10 Z-20 at a feed rate of 0.3mm/rev. If you use imperial then the approx equivelent would be a F of 0.0012.

G71, dont really know the answer but it is probably unlikely.

thanks hood , It was how the feed rate was handled that I was curious about, was unsure if it went on the g95 line or the line that calls out the move.

Just wishful thinking on g71 , I very much like lathe canned cycles for rapid manual coding , Also makes for short programs on complex cut files generated in Mastercam
