Do any 9 pin serial bar code scanners work with the bar code plugin?

Thanks

I bought a Symbol scanner on eBay with a serial connector and it works nice with the plug, FYI.  Thanks to Bryan for the plugin!

I used several symbol scanners at my last job,
the nicest one looked like a star trek phaser, but was called the cobra.
(they had on called the phaser, but it was portable and more expensive)

Ir plugged into a USBport, and it had a driver so you could set it up to emulate a keyboard.
You just click on the test box where you want the number to go and scan it, and the driver
types the keys to put the number in for you, no special software needed.

Here is a pic of it and its a Symbol - "Hotshot", Model LS2104-1000

It loads the program very fast in Mach, perfect if you have other people running same parts over and over on a machine.  I'm gana make a laminated folder with pictures of the parts and have bar codes next to them.
Also it reads only UPC bar codes, I used Elfring UPC software to print the bars.

I have a old USB bar code scanner kicking around.

Does anyone have a solution on how to convert it to the serial port or have it recognised as a com port??

I did think that there was some software available that could recognise a USB port as a virtual com port/

Thanks
Jason
