g code help
« on: May 20, 2009, 03:14:37 PM »
 ???

I have used several different programs to create drawings for export as dxf files to be loaded into lazy cam and then converted into gcode.
When I load the code into mach 2 my part is not where I want it on the router cutting area and the x axis movement is more than the area available in my routers cutting area.
Is the somewhere in the config that I can tell the mach program the size of the cutting area or is this done in lazy cam so as not to over drive my axis?
Example... when I jog from x-0.0 to x + I have a total dro of for example + 99000.
The x movement in my gcode calls for a movement of 176000.
where do I go to get these movements in sync?
What have I got set up wrong?

I can be contacted at vtmeek@gmail.com   also

Hi, Vicsrc

Post one of your problem dxf's, Use the REPLY button and attach it.

You probably just need to move the Origin Marker around or Set LazyCam to load your dxf's as shown on pic 2, It's under Setup, Load Options.

I can see howto move the origin marker but how do I move the drawing to my X0Y0 point?
I think that would help also.

I am alos configuring mach 3 to run and I have run into a problem with the emergency stop.
I have my limit switches for my axis in series and have tied my emergency stop to this also.
When I ref to zero the axis crashes the switch and does not stop. have I missed something in the set up?

Hi, Vicsrc

The Origin marker is your X0Y0 point, Use Rotate then re-set the Origin as in Att. Pic 1.

Switches "NC" in series one end Gnd other end to Input pin 15 as in Pic 2.

E-Stop "NC" should be wired to E-Stop in Inputs see pic 3.

Also G code file to look at.
