Screen BMP Creator/Editor

What .bmp program would you reccommend for editing and creating bmp's for Mach3 screens? Something easy to use and not to costly.

Gimp is free, and Photoshop like. Not sure how easy it is to use. Realdraw Pro is very easy to use, and not too expensive.
