Help Needed trying to use the AD Click
« on: May 08, 2009, 11:48:07 PM »
I have a AD Click plc and I can connect to it just fine with the click software and I know I have the settings correct due to that. But I use the same settings in mach and It won't work.
Someone please help me?????
I am very new to PLC's and Modbus
I don't see any reason that mach won't communicate with the Click PLC
Thank you in advance to anyone thats willing to help,
Jaime

I am looking at using the same plc and it looks like it should work with mach3.
My uninformed guess would be some setting in mach3.

We never have the time or money to do it right the first time, but we somehow manage to do it twice and then spend the money to get it right.

I have got them communicating and even made a simple Brain to test an input and output. I am very happy now. It seems no one had any help for me, but I just kept trying and it works. If anyone needs my settings let me know.

Metltek,

Yes please can you give me the settings, or maybe post a text file?

Thanks

I set the configuration to com1 38400 baud and 8-1-Odd.  apply these settings and close mach and Reopen. Then opened the mach serial modbus test window use the discrete input settings starting with  (hex)0000 and read all 8, for output coils use the 8192 read 6 points. these are the setting you will use on the setup page for inputs make sure you check discrete and for outputs check coils.
Let me know if you need more info or if this doesn't work.
Jaime
Also make sure you have serial cord not the USB. The usb won't work

Any more info on getting this to work? I have it set as noted by Metaltek and I can connect but when I try to read in the test window I just get a timeout error.
