Setting new Zero.
« on: April 21, 2009, 03:42:58 AM »
I wan't to do this:

DRO state maybe:
X 124.5430
Y100.0000
Z 24.5678

I wan't to offset the Z by 20. Not temporarly.
I can do it this way: Calculate 20+24.5678=44.5678 (but if it is not 20 but 6.35 it get more tricky, and a calculater is needed.)
Or that way: G0 Z30, and the apply 20 so the DRO says 50.

But isn'nt there a way to set the DRO relativ to the current read out?

If you have one of the latest revisions of mach you can click on the relevant DRO and use + * / in it, so for example the X DRO is at 123.321 and you want to add 3.245 you just cklick the X DRO press the + on your keyboard followed by 3.245 then press Enter on your keyboard and the value will be added to the DRO.

Forgot to say you can not subtract directly  as the - sign is used for negative number entering into a DRO, you can however add a negative number ;)

Yep, "+ - 10" is the same as "- 10"

Thank for the reply. So if I click on the DR0, it change color and clear up, but remember the old value, and the I just type +12.7 ?
Thats sounds good. I thougth I maybe should use the "Goto" buttom, that I haven'nt figure out what is for yet.

Yes thats correct but it needs to be a recent version of Mach, you will soon know because if it is the correct revision the + will show as (+) in the DRO as you type.

As far as I know there is not a GoTo button, there is a GoToZ which will move your axis to the work offset zero position, it will observe the safe Z if you have that feature set up.
The other button is ToGo, this will make the DROs display the distance left to go  in a move.

I try the function yesterday, and it work fine both +(5) and +(-5). It save a lot of time. Thanks. (then I use G68 (rotated coordinate) it some kind do funny things, so this I must try some more)

The button I ask for was not goto, but "To Go". It have OEM code 133 as far as i remember. I can't find anything about how to use it.
