When I install OriginalDriver for my PC, it pulsing normal but when I run mach3, I am getting blue screen of death issues.
When I install SpecialDriver, it pulsing too fast but I get no blue screen of death issues.
Any comments?

I wish I knew a way to take a voltmeter reading on the parallel port output connector pins and actually exercise a few pins logic levels to see if Mach 3 is doing anything.  I'm so frustrated.  When I run the output test the dialog box says "running too fast" and the next time I do it says "running too slow".  Is there a way to set output pins high or low to see if anything is working??? Using a Sony VGN-A190 laptop.

DR JACKPOT,
Maybe it is just that particular  laptop and one that dosen't work with very well with MACH.
Someone posted a link to a free PP tester, freebie, ????? Budman ???????

Thanks Dave,

The name of the program is "PARMON"  and gives PP pin status.
Do a search and you should be able to find it.

Is any new Driver update available?

Hello fellow machinists.
I'm in London England.
I too ran the 'check config' and it said that the kernel speed was higher than required by the motor tuning. I looked for the kernel speed and it is set, as suggested by my supplier (ZealCNC), at 75khz but the 25khz mode is suggested by the sooftware.
I ran the DriverTest and it says: '25khz' but it also says 'pulsing too fast'

Any clues?

Aawills,

I suggest that you check 'Config / Ports & Pins' that you actually do have kernel speed set to 25000. There is seldom any need to go higher than this.

Hi all,

Just to clarify - please correct me if I am wrong - the Khz setting in the Driver test does not affect Mach3's kernel setting. I too run my machine at 75Khz kernel speed. My config check also tells me that the kernel speed in motor tuning is higher than required, but simple math plainly shows it is not.

Regarding the 75Khz kernel speed; we could certainly increase the digital gearing at the servo drive and run a slower kernel speed at the cost of reduced resolution, but I don't see a reason to do so unless the PC cannot cope.

For those who may have experienced and resolved the 'pulsing too fast' message aawills is describing, what was the solution? Faster PC? Optimization?

Regards,

Jason
