Mach3 and THC, more problems
« on: February 26, 2009, 04:56:11 AM »
Hi,
I started install.exe from THC300 downloaded from Bob Campbell. Then I start Mach3 with THC300SM3 profile, and:
1. THC ON/OFF big button don't reacts;
2. Jog block appears incomplete, no radio button, no yellow and red cursor triangles;
3. Mach3 screen doesn't fit the monitor screen;
4. There are two buttons below the Mach3 screen: Simplify screen and ReLoad;
Need emergency help

the screenset you have loaded in that profile is not the one you attached, the one in the profile is 1024-THCJ.set.

If the screen is to big then go to Config menu then General Config, then choose the AutoEnlarge option.

Also looked at your pins and you have the Torch On,  Up and Down set to pins on Port 2 yet I think you are not using Port 2, either that or you have the wrong port address.

Hi Hood,
I made some progress: now Jog part is OK, but the rest is like this:
Torch On, Output 1 (Port 2, pin 1) is working
THC Up, Input (port 2, pin 12) is working
THC Down, Input (port 2, pin 11) is working
So, Port 2 is working.
I looked in originally downloaded screenshot from Bob (see attachment) and I saw I don't have connected the following pins who appears in this screenshots, as follows:

Output 1, Port 2, pin 1
Output 2, Port 1, pin 14
Output 3, Port 1, pin 16
Z Home, Port 1, pin 13 (maybee folating head switch?)
I see that those pins are used, but need explanations where are those connected.

THC ON/OFF big button still don't reacts;
Regards,

Can you attach the screenset that you are using, the one you attached is not what your xml says you are using.

I need you to attach your screenset, the one you are using is 1024-THCJ.set, look in your Mach 3 folder.

Hi Hood,
I made a mistake reading your previous post.
Instead of screenset I sanded screenshot.
This moment I removed 1024-THCJ.set file and all .xml files except THC300sm3.xml from mach3 folder and started Mach. Resest is blinking. Before I press reset button THC on/off button reacts and starts blinking (newer solid green). After reset I can't do THC off, it continues blinking until i restart Mach. And vice versa: if I do reset first I can't do THC on/off until I restart Mach. In both cases, when reset is not blinking, Torch on/off, Arc OK and Up/Down leds work properly.
I attach copies of .set and .xml files from Mach3 folder (I hope the right ones, this time).
By the way, .xml file is for pins allocation (I think), but what is .set file for?
Regards,
mrpeja

.set file is your screenset, ie what you see. xml stores more than just pins, it stores nearly all of your settings such as pins, ports, last code used, screenset you use, last position etc etc
