and.....the power quill feed is driven through a worm wheel from the spindle, then a small transmission...1.5, 3, or 6 thou per rev..I think.

File extension is WinRAR, similar to WinZip. I thought XP could unzip them but possibly not. Have copied and converted to a winzip archive for you.

By the way Hood, is your Z axis drive servo or stepper.
If stepper how big is it?

That was on my manual Bridgeport, its a stepper and was geared 3:1, the stepper was 216 ozin or 316ozin, I forget it was that long ago. My Series 1 CNC I have a 916 ozin stepper on it geared I think 2.5:1 (original Bridgeport gearing)
