Howzit Guys,
 Please help me.
1.    I'm using the LayCAM text for a project in LazyCAM MILL.
 All the font's letters are outlined letters (Double line).
 Is there a tool to change that to single line letters for all the fonts?


2.   I went to that site where they offer free downloads of fonts.
What file do I downloaded to and how can I get to those fonts
when using the LazyCAM MILL - TEXT as another option to use
besides the fonts offered in that Text tool?

Unfortunately the only thing you can really do is find them on the internet and install them to your fonts folder in your operating system. If you're using windows XP, the fonts folder is in the control panel area.

You can also draw them in your CAD program and save them for later as well.

So, there's no other choices of Fonts in LazyCAM, except the ones offered that comes with it?
All are outlined letters... mmmmmmmm

I also got TurboCad Deluxe...
The Text created in TurboCAD is saved as a DXF, along with a polyline border around it.
When I open it up in LazyCAM as a new project,
only the Polyline Border shows up on the Info and Project screen.
No Text.

Is this a software compadability problem,
or do I have to convert the text to something else before I save it as a DFX file?
I do group the border and lettering before saving it as a DXF..

I'll go to the IMSI Tech Support to ask them, but, maybe someone here knows the answer.
Anyone???

There are not manny single line fonts out there if memory serves me.
I am guessing, but one of them is called "STICKMAN"  and that gives you single line.
( if i fiind it i'll post it here)
Try exploding the font before you DXF it and get rid of the boarder. Just be aware that
you will get lots of little lines. One of the things i used to do is draw over the text using arc's.
That will reduce the Gcode file a lot and it looks so much nicer even at a small scale.
 If your machine can't hold good tolerances, well that's another story, just depends on how particular you want
to get.

You can import font's in dxf's, You need to un-check in Setup, Loading Options, The Ignore "Text Entities" box.

 I did uncheck the "Ignore Text Entities".
 The DXF from TurboCAD came to LazyCAM with the letters, but, I was in another
font. And, I added some  a b & c d Wingdings I symbols to add some design to it.
When I opened it up in LazyCAM, the wingdings I came out as letters, and,
the words came out in a different font.

But, Thanks for your help. At least you told me how to get some kind of lettering to
open from TurboCAD to LazyCAM.

IMSI Tech support for TurboCAD answered with using the flexable option in the text Properties Box.
They also suggested I play with the Expand option in the "Set-up" box when saving the file in TurboCAD.
It still didn't come out when I opened it up in LazyCAM.

There is a "WRITE" wizard in Mach which can generate text, but then i don't know the text types, and have never tried the wizard.

Now there is a simple way to do "single line" text. ( depends on how much you are doing ). Use "COPYCAT" wizard to generate the code. It should be rather fast to use.
