After spending long hours and reverse engineering the PC Interface Board on my Emco Compact 5 PC, I discovered that the data inputs require an accompanying strobe signal in order to read the data.  As I recall the parallel port normally sends a strobe signal to the printer on this port with the data.  If there is any way to enable the strobe output concurrent with the data it will save me a lot of time designing and building a hardware kludge to work around the problem.
Thanks,
