Homing problem on router with 2 steppers on Y axis
« on: July 29, 2008, 05:38:59 PM »
Hello, I am running version 2.61 and trying to set up homing...

In the past all I used were the limit switches as safety stops, but would like
to get the homing set up.

I watched the Vidio Tutorial on Limits/Homing and have set things up per that advise,
however when it starts to home the Y axis, the steppers on opposite sides of the
gantry move in opposite directions.

Everything work just fine when in MPG Mode or running a Gcode file...

What have I forgotten to check or uncheck in the limits/home area that is causing
the Y steppers to run in opposite directions just when homing?

Thanks in Advance,

Preston

you probably need to home in a negative direction (or positive) on the motor thats going the wrong way. You will find that from Config menu then Homing and Limits.

Assuming one motor is "Slaved" to the other, Is it checked here?

Ok, that was not checked...I checked that, and rebooted the system...

Now when I hit Ref All Home...there is no movement at all, but the Machine Coord's all turn to Zero at the
position of the axis at the time Ref All home is pressed and the LED's all turn Green.

I have turned on and off the computer...everything else sees to be working properly,
including the limit switches...

Any idea as to why there is no movement when hitting Ref All Home now?

Regards,

Preston

Sounds like you have disabled your Home switches

Hood, Thank You SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That did the trick...I had been constantly trying things yesterday and must have switched
those to inactive...
